Eve was raised by a Roman family for much of her youth. The woman that took care of her was Orphelia. She was the wife of a senator of Rome and lived on a small villa in one of the provinces with her son, Larus. She was a very proper and well-bred Roman noblewoman and she didn't find much time for Livia in her childhood and pretty much kept to herself. She became bitter after Larus' death and blamed Livia for her problems. After Eve returned to visit her, they became like friends and Orphelia always regretted how she had treated Livia, wishing that she could have been a better mother to her adoptive daughter.
