In order to protect Ares from bounty hunters that are after him because of what he had done to them as a god, Xena decides to take him to her childhood farm where she disguises him as a farmer and she and Gabrielle play house with him for a few days. The time together is lighthearted but tender, both Xena and Ares acting comfortable and carefree around one another. When the danger has finally passed, Xena and Gabrielle choose to be on their way, but Xena tells Ares he should stay on the farm and gives him hope that she may visit him again sometime.
