When Ares comes to Xena after the death of her son and goads her to kill Gabrielle because she was ultimately the cause of Solan’s death, Xena’s grief accelerates. In a fit of anger and rage, Xena attempts to kill Gabrielle from a cliff high above the ocean and when they fall into the water, they are transported into the magical land of Illusia. There, Xena is faced with many choices, all in musical fashion, and the appearance of Ares brings her back into his fold--and the chemistry between them that comes out of power, war and seduction bring her and Ares into a sensual dance that ultimately expresses how deep the connection and attraction they have to one another really is.
