Some thugs are being thugs, traveling over the landscape looking for a place to crash. They come to a house and set the barn on fire, the lead thug very unhappy that they are acting like "thugs"--all they wanted was a place to sleep for the night.
One Olympus, Ares and Aphrodite are in a bit of an sibling argument. Aphrodite doesn't believe that Ares can pretend to be mortal for a day and so Ares turns the dare on its head and challenges Aphrodite to do the same thing. They both dare each other to go an entire day as a "mortal". Horace comes along.
Xena and Gabrielle are traveling toward the farmhouse to wait to meet up with Eve later on. Gabrielle talks about how she's been having dreams about "touching" Ares while on that farm before and Xena can help but laugh.
Aphrodite and Ares end up at the farm. They find the place just like they had left it. Aphrodite has to change into some farm attire. Greba shows up and is all over Ares, hanging on him, wanting him to protect. She's really annoying.
Later, Xena and Gabrielle arrive at the farm when it's raining. They find Ares and Aphrodite there, with Greba and are completely shocked.
Xena and Gabrielle try to figure out what is going on and they find that they are there because of a dare. Aphrodite uses her powers again to give Xena and Gabrielle farm outfits, Gabrielle's matching Aphrodite's outfit.
Argo is in the barn chatting (with translation) on screen with Gabrielle's horse, remembering the good old days with her mother.
Gabrielle and Aphrodite have a chat by the fire at night, discussing Xena and Ares and how they are attracted to each other.
They spend the night together in the house, all of them in the same bed (very crowded, as you could guess). Greba is quite the snorer and is annoying everyone else.
They then discuss plans to take down the thugs who had attacked Greba's home. They go out the next morning. There's a fight and it turns out the thugs are followers of Discord who is, in fact, dead at this time. This makes the thugs (who are rather whimpy) sad and they call off the attack, leaving the farm once and for all.
Neither Ares or Aphrodite won the bet, as Aphrodite changed their clothes and Ares blasted some chickens silently in the night. Greba is annoying as ever but thankfully the thugs are gone.
Ares returns to his temple and finds it completely sparkling and clean, due to Hestia's perstistant attitude about things looking tidy.
